Take Me Home
by
Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy
(aka jlm121 and kel)

"Miss Davis, before I need to arrest you for assault on that table, can I offer you a ride?"

"I suppose you think that's funny."

"What did that table ever do to you? It's an innocent"

"Commissioner, I am not in the mood."

"Oh, you're in a mood alright."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I'm just saying, you're in a mood. This is not our usual Alexis Davis."

"I'm fine."

"Tell me another one"

"It's nothing."

"I'm gonna warrant a guess and say it has something to do with the two people who just left."

"My life does not revolve around the twisted mating dance that is Sonny and Carly's marriage"

"So says you."

"Now you're just pissing me off."

"Did Alexis Davis, attorney, just say pissing me off?"

"Oh please."

"You kiss your client with that mouth?"

She flashes me a deadly glare then she gets that wicked Cassadine smile across her face.

"Better than kissing police commissioners with it."

"You offering?"

"Are you?"

There is a split second as she drops the files she was gathering and my back hits the door of the interrogation room.

Now I know that mouth can do more than just argue.

And do it well.

She breaks the kiss and gives me another sly smile

"So?"

I am not sure if it is an offer, an insult, or what, but I am answering yes just to cover all my bases.

"So?" she repeats.

"I...uh...need a minute."

"Can't stand the heat, Commissioner?"

"Did I say that?"

"You're not saying much of anything. So let me make it easy for you...take me home."

"Can I drop you somewhere?" I am half-flirting, half-serious.

She leans in so close I know what kind of soap she uses, and her lips brush my ears

"Take. Me. Home. Your place."

"My place?"  When did I develop a stutter?

"Unless you're rethinking Commissioner."

"Stop calling me Commissioner."

"Ok...Maaaac."

She drags out my name like she shouldn't if she knows what's good for her. I wonder how sturdy the table is. I am tempted to test it

"Counselor...are you sure?"

"A little late to be so formal, Mac."

"Alexis...."

"I don't start things I don't intend to finish."

I nod.

"So, I guess the question is, are YOU sure?"

"Take me home."

"Let's go."

Her fingers scrape against my mouth and I realize she is removing her lipstick.

"I'll meet you out front."

I nod and straighten my tie and clean my glasses. She gathers her files, smoothes her jacket and is out the door in a matter of minutes.

And I exhale.

Yeah. We're going to do this.

I try to walk casually through the bullpen. A double-breasted suit jacket hides a multitude of sins.

The warm summer air hits me as I head down the steps in front of the station. I round the corner and find her seated on my car. I will admit I have checked out Alexis' legs before, but never have they been this prominently displayed nor has so much of them.

She's eyeing me again. Her look is almost primal.

I wonder just for moment which way the surveillance cameras are facing this time of night. My hands fumble for my keys and I manage to disengage the alarm on my car.

"Ready?"

She slithers off the hood of the car and looks me up and down

"Willing and able."

"Let's go."

******

Let me say this. There is NOTHING Alexis Davis doesn't excel at.

I briefly wonder if I'll ever be able to look at her mouth again without blushing. Or remembering. There is a trail of clothing from the door to the bedroom. I reach up to remove my glasses.

"Leave 'em on"

"Leave your hair up."

Her eyes widen, and that wicked Cassadine grin crosses her face again.

"Naughty librarian?"

"Professor fetish?"

"Whatever works"

And there's that mouth again

******

Later as she's raiding my fridge, I study her.

She's pulled on my discarded shirt and is commenting on the numerous take out containers littering the inside. Her nose crinkles over a Chinese takeout carton, but she deems it worthy enough to eat. Her hands expertly maneuver a set of chopsticks and she joins me on the bed and proffers some moo goo gai pan. I shake my head at her.

"More for me."

"Indeed."

I don't know what to say to this strange creature wearing a mobster's lawyer's skin. I would have never thought, hell my fantasies haven't even been this good.

The chopsticks scrape the near empty carton and the noise echoes in the quiet room. She leans across me to discard the container and I catch her around the waist and she leans back. My hands find the buttons on my shirt and i can hear her hum around the chopsticks.

"You know you eat that and you're going to be hungry in an hour."

"Well maybe I'll work up an appetite again."

Did I mention I love her mouth?

I am impressed by her reach as the carton makes it onto the nightstand. The chopsticks don't fare as well, but I know I'll find them later.

My shirt slides off her shoulders as we roll back onto the rumpled sheets.

******

The sun is a cruel alarm clock as is the scent of overripe moo goo gai pan.

My eyes open, and she is gone, as I knew she would be. There is that little twinge in my chest. The thought of watching her devour pancakes or burn her tongue on too hot coffee.

I feel a digging in my back and a search turns up a lone hairpin.

I insisted she leave her hair up.

She insisted I wear my glasses.

Who were those two people last night?

My cell rings and I stumble around for a moment till I find the damn thing.

"Commissioner Scorpio"

"Commissioner, This is Alexis Davis, Attorney at law, just wanted to thank you for the ride home last night" .

And the walls go back up.

"Glad I could be of service, Counselor."

"See you around the station, Commissioner."

"Take care, Counselor."

The phone beeps as she disconnects on the other end. I put down the cell and retrieve the offending carton of Chinese food and the errant chopsticks. My reverie is broken by the sound of my actual alarm clock buzzing and calling me back to the world to begin my day.

I place the lone hairpin on the nightstand and smile.
